In March of 2022 Mark J. Lindquist of Fargo, North Dakota and Ortonville, Minnesota took it upon himself to launch a self-directed humanitarian mission to Ukraine. He traveled on his own to the eastern edge of the free world to identify partners in Ukraine who needed the support of Americans who cared about the cause of freedom in Ukraine following russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Mark J. Lindquist and his partners have been delivering humanitarian aid to the frontlines in Ukraine since March of 2022. He has traveled as close as 5 miles away from the russian frontlines and taken great risk to ensure the deliveries are made directly into the hands of Ukrainians fighting for their freedom and way of life.His team regularly runs convoys of 4x4 evacuation and logistics vehicles to his Ukrainian partners as well as ambulances and fire trucks that save the lives of countless citizens of the free world.Mark is a Sinatra style singer who leads the Mark J. Lindquist Big Band and has performed on the frontlines in Ukraine. In July of 2022 Mark took it upon himself to perform in the near-deserted city of Kharkiv, Ukraine 8 miles away from russian artillery reigning down bombs on the city as he executed a bunker big band concert to boost the morale of local citizens and volunteers.Starting in 2026, Mark began a street performance in Kyiv and Lviv, Ukraine raising money and awareness for the cause of Ukraine - broadcasting live from a war zone, doing what the USO has not done - bringing smiles and boosting morale through the gift of music on the eastern edge of the free world.
